blog 15 my reflection
I can't believe I just titled this the 15th blog! 15 weeks of blogging in and of itself is a record for me! I really enjoyed this course and all of the topics we covered. I felt there was a great variety and something new to learn each week. I especially appreciated the harder-to-discuss topics like the trafficking of women into sex slavery, FGM, and the assignment #12. These topics forced me to look into, research, and learn about things I didn't really know much about before. Sometimes challenges in this world are to gruesome to acknowledge or are so insane that it's hard to imagine they exist. These are the topics I most appreciated. Since I am a mom, I already had some good knowledge about pregnancy and disease etc. I enjoyed the assignments and required blogging. The blog in particular was a lot of fun for me to keep and definitely something I hadn't done before. I enjoyed reading my viewers comments all semester as well as the opportunity to read and comment on theirs. As a woman, I believe this course provides and solid foundation of understanding and appreciation for where women came from and just how far they have come across history with all of the obstacles and challenges faced over the years. This course has helped me to be prouder of who I am and more informed on a global level. Thank you so much Mrs. Kampschroeder, I really enjoyed this class!

Heather,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you... I can't believe we've been blogging for 15 weeks! That's a long time but it was alot of fun. And you're right, the more difficult topics to dicuss were a little harder to blog about, but it did force me to look more in depth and do research as to where I wouldn't before.

ReplyDeleteHi Heather,
ReplyDeleteI feel like there is so much i have learned in this class! When I think about all of the topics its really hard to choose one because I remember learning about women trafficking and being so shocked by it all! There is so much i will take away from this class and i enjoyed reading how much you will take away from it too!

Hello Heather,
ReplyDeleteYou have done a good job with your blogs. They are very creative and interesting to read. I agree that as moms we do need to learn what is going on in the world, and how issues effect women. Whether it be a health issue, an economic or political injustice, or discrimination, we become stronger women and influential mothers when we are made aware of the truth.
Thank you,
Amy Hicks
Heather,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, this course definitely offered a variety of women's health topics. I too enjoyed the layout of the course. There was so many different aspects of the course to reflect on and you did a great job breaking it down by what interested you most. I have enjoyed being able to blog with you weekly. I always look forward to your post. From an educational stand point, I was able to take so mcuh from this course and apply it to my everyday life. I hope to take everything I learned from this course and utilize it in the best way possible as a Health Program Coordinator.

Hi, I really agree with you I feel the same way I learned so much from reading and also from your blogs you did a really great job. This was an amazing course as a woman is really nice to learn all this things and I love telling my sisters about it.
ReplyDeleteHey Heather,
ReplyDeleteThis semester has just flown by, and it's crazy to think that we are now on blog #15! This class has been a great experience, and I too have learned so much about all of the topics discussed even those that aren't discussed all that often or if at all. It is difficult to discuss the issues that women are faced with such as violence, FGM, etc. But it is amazing to see where women before have gone and where we as women now and in the future plan to go as an effort to better our lives. It has been a real joy to be able to read your blogs, and comment on your thoughts.

You are absolutely right, this course has been a huge eye opener for me as well; before this class I had little knowledge about health insurance and how it worked until I took this class. Watching the video "Sick in America" on PBS.com made me realize that I need to become more proactive about health care. I thought the blogging idea was awesome, every week I looked forward to posting, recieving and giving comments, it was the hilight of my week.
